My Little Chefs
Jake and Sam are taking part in their last camp of the summer….cooking camp! Both of them have always loved making little treats for us and lately, they have become more involved. Jake has even left me shopping lists of things he needs. So….when I saw something on Facebook about a local chef offering a cooking camp this summer, I jumped at the chance to sign them up. They have loved every minute!

Her name is Chef Marina and this is a new venture for her. She set up a few weeks for local kids to come in and learn how to be real chefs. The boys will come home with a full recipe binder, chef jacket and their own utensils. They will learn how to make soups, salad dressings, pasta and more. They already know more than I do about how to get around a kitchen and they are on day 3! :)
I want to try to give the boys a chance to explore as many new things as I can. Since I don’t cook and their dad is gone so often, this camp was perfect. They can be creative and try new things with someone who can really explain things to them and share a passion for food. I love that new things like this are popping up in Jacksonville. With so many kids in the area, there need to be camps like this to expose them to new things and be educational at the same time.
With 2 days to go I have no doubt both boys will be adding to my shopping list for next week…….let’s hope my stomach can take what they whip up!
