Sharon Knosky

Hello! My name is Sharon Knosky and I am a stay-at-home mom of three. 5 year old Adam, 3 year old Anna Claire, and 2 year old Thomas. Our family is currently underconstruction again! We added another member to the family in November, 2012. I have just experienced my oldest child graduating kindergarten...words can't even tell you how I feel inside. It is bittersweet? My wonderful husband is the "man of my dreams", my best friend, companion, and soulmate. I love him with everything in me and am so thankful that God has blessed my life with him. We wanted a large family to grow for the the Lord and we are well on our way. I look forward to sharing my family experiences with the MommyTalk site!

Getting Enough Sleep As A Mom

How many times as Mom have you heard people tell you “You have to sleep when they sleep!”.  Well having a three month old I hear this a lot but I also have a 4 year old and 7 year old who are very active in dance, cheerleading, and gymnastics so often when the baby sleeps I am busy running them from place to place or getting them ready to go to their activities, or cleaning house, or the million other activities a Mom has to do.

I would love to sleep when she sleeps but it just isn’t possible most of the time and I wonder how these Moms who tell me this are able to sleep when their kids sleep?  I think it works out ok if you only have one, or maybe a newborn and a toddler but it’s just not working out for me this time.

I know that a lot of times not getting enough sleep is my fault because I will stay up late watching tv when I should be sleeping before the baby wakes up but to me this is my time to unwind and relax from the day.  It is my Mommy-time and I don’t want to give that up just to sleep :).  I just hope that maybe we can get on some type of schedule that allows me to get more sleep soon.

How do you ensure you get enough sleep as a Mom?
